THE LIGHT I LIVE IN

This series, made in 2024, consists of multiple horizontal and vertical lines creating a colour grid, using the 7 colours in which light is broken down: orange, violet, green, red, yellow, indigo and blue.

The series continues the artist's investigation into the nature of the decomposition of light. The series “The Light I Live In” continues the research that started with “Mediated Landscapes” carried out in 2020.

Starting from these images of the landscape, the series is divided into individual quadrants, repeating a mesh of hundreds of horizontal and vertical lines. In the transition from analog to digital and from digital to manual, a new and exciting alliance is created between painting - in this case using oil pastels - and technology, exploring the dynamics of chaos and control.

On a visual level, the “The Light I Live In” Series seems to align itself with historical attempts to analyse the chromatic spectrum through light: from Newton and Francesco Grimaldi to Impressionism, Pointillism and colour theory.
