Bio

Fernando Jerez and Belén Pérez de Juan are a duo of Spanish architects and artists known for large-scale projects. Their work focuses on expressing the way we feel and perceive the environment through air, light, and colour. Ranging from sculptural interventions in the landscape to pictorial representations, where lines engage with light and the creation of spaces on canvas, exploring the limits of perception.

They split their time between Australia and Spain. Previously, they founded SMAR Studio, winning over 20 international awards and developing large-scale projects like Science Island in Kaunas and Breeze of Innovation in Silicon Valley. They have exhibited in Australia, Spain, Finland, Korea, China, and the USA, partnering with institutions like the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation and Kunsthalle, Helsinki, and receiving coverage from media such as Forbes, The Sydney Morning Herald, and The New York Times.
